Toddler Room.

Toddlers Guide Within the toddler room children have a place to become more independent, to be more aware of the needs of others and learn how to express their feelings in a positive manner. In this room children's language and communication skills are enhanced with many new and varied vocabulary being acquired.

Committed staff plan, organise and implement a programme theme which stimulates children in their care whilst teaching them about the environment and world around them. In their creative work they use a wide variety of materials and textures to enhance a child's sensory awareness whilst also developing their fine manipulative, hand to eye co-ordination and their imagination. They carry out activities in small and large groups and also on a one to one basis with our child carers. This allows toddlers to develop a sense of belonging to a group whilst also establishing strong bonds with peers and carers.

Children become more confident in their environment and are willing to try new activities as they know they are in a safe and loving place. This in itself promotes a sense of worth and achievement. A major achievement in this room is that children are toilet trained at their own pace with encouragement from home and our team. Other activities introduced into this age group include parachute games, cookery and more specialised music sessions with instruments all of which enhance a child's cognitive learning in new ways.

A secure and colourful playground adjacent to their playroom room allows the toddlers to don their shoes and coats and head out for some fresh air throughout the day. Balls, hoops and tricycles are always available as well as playground chalk so they design the tarmac in a funky manner. Our safe and sheltered garden area also offers the opportunity for toddlers to run and explore outside with specialised climbing equipment specifically for their age group if they want to climb!!!
